Giving Thanks at Thanksgiving Time

by Dorothy Sanchez

I have always liked and admired the Thanksgiving tradition followed in our family.

It has been a custom in our family that we hand over small and beautiful gifts to our guest as a token of love. The custom is also followed when we visit our relatives and friends houses.

We carry special gifts for them and thank them for giving us of their time and for their hospitality. The tradition of giving thanks was followed from our grandparents time.

In those days, gifts included sweets, especially homemade sweets. But, these days, we exchange flowers, gift items and chocolates. The Thanksgiving tradition also helps in bonding with our dear ones.
