Thankful! Remembering Childhood Home

by Ernest
(Ohio)

Father-in-law passed away leaving my wife to deal with the estate...she had to clean, organize, and try to sell the house...every visit caused her to remember childhood and growing up in that house.

I have a picture of the house and will use this poem as inspiration to write a similar poem for her. I will have both mounted on a plaque and give it to her for Christmas.

I wish Leo were living so I could thank him, but since I cannot I would like to say thanks to the VanMeer family for the wonderful inspiration! I wish each of you a Merry Christmas!

Ernest,

Thank you very much. It is a beautiful poem, is it not? It is hard not to be inspired by Leo's poem. I just love it and I'm glad you found it inspirational.

Please send my condolences to you wife. I'm am sorry to hear about her father's passing.
