Used Various Sources for My Family Tree Search

by J Co

Tracing back the heritage of my family tree was quite a daunting task. I started by asking my parents about their parents, and my great grandparents.

Since most of my grandparents had passed on, I had little to work with. I decided to go with my mom’s side, since her dad was still alive. He showed me some photographs of his parents, and I gathered their names and information of where they lived.

I then searched rigorously on Google to find out how to contact the library near that area. I talked to the librarian, explained to her what I was doing and she went ahead and gathered up some news articles from around then. Thankfully, I was able to get the information I needed from her by phone.

After doing some more research on the internet, I found some more cities to search. In the end, I was able to trace back to when my great, great grandparents came to the United States.

Unfortunately, that is as far as I could get. Someday I want to research my father’s side, but I have little leads.
